Recently, PressRoomVIP attended the 34th Annual College Television Awards. The program “was started to prepare the future of television,” said Norma Provencio Pichardo, Executive Director of the Academy of Television Arts & Science Foundation. Brian Baumgartner, award-winning actor, emphasized that “everybody who was doing television just kept doing it, all we’d see is the same thing. But having new energy, new voices is incredibly important.”

Emerging artists gave insight and words of advice to their peers who are striving to get into the industry. “You have to have determination. The competition alone is enough to scare of a majority of people. For the people who are willing to fight for it, good for them and that’s what I’m here to support ,” says Nick Ayler, actor, model, and DJ. Morena Baccarin, actress, maintains, “tenacity is a good word, ambition [another]. These are all things you need to have. You will be told ‘no’ many times…you have to believe in what you have to offer.”

Once again the College Television Awards stayed true its course and continues to help usher in a new generation of talented artists.
