Amanda Bynes Avoids Jail

She’s had a rough year.  From being involuntarily put in a psych ward to lighting her own dog on fire, Amanda Bynes showed us just how crazy she can really be these past several months.  But honestly, things are looking up for her lately.  She’s managed to pull herself together and come home from the psych ward.  She’s also completed a rehab stint.

Now, things are even better for Bynes because she just plead no contest in a criminal case in which she was charged with DUI.  Best of all, the plea deal that she took led to no jail time.  She will, however, have to pay some fines and attend alcohol education classes.  Most importantly, she’ll be on probation for three years.  We hope she can manage to keep her butt out of trouble for that long.

Bynes received the DUI charge back in 2012 when she sideswiped a car, and low and behold, it was a police car that she sideswiped.  After receiving this charge, she was then charged with two hit and run offenses over the next few months.  It was at this point that everyone could see Amanda was going downhill, and she was falling fast.  All of the hit and run charges, though, were dropped.

To put it bluntly, Amanda has been quite lucky with all of her run-ins with the law.  In fact, it was just last month that she had another charge dropped.  Remember when she supposedly through a bong out of her apartment window in New York?  Yep, that’s the one.  A judge decided to drop the charges.

Even though Amanda has been in a lot of trouble with the law, over the past couple of years, she made it very clear to see that she was mentally unstable.  When someone is calling some of the hottest people in Hollywood ugly, like Amanda did, this means mental instability, right?  Yeah, that’s what we thought too.

But, oh well.  Amanda has finally got her life back together and is reportedly doing well.  Her parents released a statement saying she will continue outpatient treatment on a weekly basis.  This is probably a good thing given she had to spend nearly four months in inpatient treatment before being allowed to leave.
