The social media countdown is over! Ariana Grande‘s highly-anticapted song Problem, featuring Iggy Azalea, was released today and quickly soared to the no. 1 spot on iTunes. The Millennial Generation’s leading pop diva debuted the new single with a live performance at the 2014 Radio Disney Music Awards.
The sexy, sax-saturated track is catchy and fast-paced, a deviation from the ballads the much adored vocalist has released in the past. This morning Grande spoke with Ryan Seacrest about the song saying, “it’s so bipolar.” Grande and Seacrest went into a discussion about the extreme mixed emotions everyone can feel when in a relationship. Love can inspire crazy feelings and the first verse digs right into that:
Hey baby, even though I hate ya
I wanna love ya, I want you
And even though I can’t forgive ya
I really want to, I want you
Tell me, tell me, boy, babe
Why did you leave me?
Cause even though I shouldn’t want it
I gotta have it, I want you
Seacrest said, “It’s so hard to get past that point of going back and forth [I love you, I hate you], right?” To which Grande replies, “Yea. I feel like once you get to that point you either break up or you just work it out, and then you stay [in the relationship] for a while.”
Who really knows? What is certain is that this song is for sure destined to be a hit! Download it on iTunes!
