Who are the Most Outstanding Women of 2015? Can you guess? In the past AskMen.com went a more physical route for almost 15 years, creating a list of the ‘Top 99 Most Desirable Women‘ of the year, focusing on the hottest women in the entertainment world. But this year, the world’s No. 1 lifestyle site for men decided to move in a different direction, and focused rather on “what makes women outstanding in their own right,” they said in their release.

“This year’s list is not only a reflection of a shift in the media, but also a shift in modern male thinking. We wanted to steer away from ‘hot’ lists and highlight women who have demonstrated a sheer influence in their industry. We were looking for women who are doing something new this year, something that demonstrates their versatility and raw talent.” – Publisher James Bassil.

To guarantee that the list represented women’s accomplishments across a variety of categories and fields, panelists representing five online publications – Business Insider, Huffington Post Lifestyle, PCMag, Sports Illustrated, and Yahoo! Celebrity – helped the AskMen editorial team create the original list of 200 nominees. The list was broken down into five categories: MVPs, Power Players, Discoverers, Influencers and Star Performers. After one million international male reader votes were entered and the five leading panelists gave their input, AskMen announced that actress Emma Watson was voted No. 1 on its “Top 99 Most Outstanding Women 2015.”

The remaining top ten are as follows: UFC fighter Ronda Rousey, reality start/businesswoman Kim Kardashian, pop star Taylor Swift, World Cup ski champion Lindsey Vonn, scientist Elizabeth Holmes, Queen B Beyonce, human rights lawyer Amal Clooney, actress Jennifer Lawrence and best female tennis player Serena Williams.

Panelist Andy Gray, Senior Web Producer at Sports Illustrated, was asked what he thought about the reinvented “Top 99” feature and he said, “What I think is interesting about this year’s list is that people will read it – where before they would look at the list and look at the women. Here you want to read about the women and learn more about them, what they did and their background.”

AskMen is devoted to helping readers become better men on subjects like fashion, health, dating, career, fine living and entertainment.
