Grumpy Cat's Worst Christmas Ever

This might be a first: We’re VERY EXCITED for a Lifetime Original Event coming up for the holidays.

No, not because we’re pumped to eat three pints of Ben and Jerry’s and pair them with Cyber Seduction, 12 Man Christmas, and On the Edge of Innocence, but because Lifetime is releasing a movie featuring internet meme sensation Grumpy Cat.

That’s right, move aside Love Actually, because Grumpy Cat is starring in her own live-action Christmas flick called–get ready for it–Grumpy Cat’s Worst Christmas Ever. Even better, Parks and Recreation star Aubrey Plaza is slated to voice the dysfunctional feline. Perfect. Our web-obessed taste buds are watering.

Written by Tim Hill (Alvin and the Chipmunks) and Jeff Morris (The True Memoirs of an International Assassin), the movie will follow a grumpy cat–played by Grumpy Cat– who becomes grumpy because she’s lived too long in a pet shop–trés sad! However, a 12-year-old girl named Chrystal discovers that she’s able to magically talk to Grumpy Cat (actually named Tardar Sauce) and decides to rescue the forlorn kitty before the mall closes.

We can only guess the types of antics Grumpy Cat might get into, but until then we’ll keep enjoying her as she grumps along across our news feeds.
