Black is beautiful!
How could anyone say anything negative to this adorbs little girl?!
What was to be a fun trip to Melbourne, Australia turned into a racist encounter for Rachel Muir and her 3 year-old daughter, Samara. The two were waiting in line for a snow pit for two hours and little Samara was dressed up as her favorite Disney character – Queen Elsa from Frozen.
“The lady in front of us turned around to Samara and said ‘I don’t know why you’re dressed up for because Queen Elsa isn’t black’,” Ms. Muir said. “I asked the woman what she meant by the comment and then one of the woman’s young daughters screwed up her face, she pointed at Samara and said ‘you’re black and black is ugly’.”
Samara is an Aboriginal Australian, a race that has endured hatred since the 18th century. Little Samara takes Aboriginal dance classes to embrace her heritage, but after the incident refused to go. “When I asked why she didn’t want to go, she pointed at the skin on her arm and asked why she was black,” Ms. Muir said. “I told her ‘because God gave you that skin colour, because you’re a proud blackfella like mum’.” She continued, “The saddest part of it all is that racism is alive and well and the next generation are being subjected to it. “Nobody is born into this world a racist. It is learnt behavior. It can be changed.”
After sharing her story on Facebook, Rachel and Samara have gotten such amazing support from all over the world. Sarama even received a video message from Queen Elsa at Disney world.

Little girls should be taught that race has nothing to do with dressing up or being whoever you want to be. Let’s create a positive environment for the next generation. Go, Samara!
You won’t believe what this woman said to a innocent 3 year-old girl. It made us cringe!
