Some actors have become notoriously difficult to work with. Between wresting preoducers for more money, screaming at crew members, and abusing drugs, these three seem to round out the baddest in Hollywood.

Christian Bale may have mellowed out a bit in recent years, but his stigma for being tough to work with and a ‘bad boy’ is still going strong. Recent reports on American Hustle had Bale getting way into his character and acting like the notorious quick-witted character off camera. Of course, it was his stints with Terminator: Salvation, including a leaked audio clip of Bale verbally berating the crew, that went viral.

Producer on the set, Bruce Franklin said “If you are working in a very intense scene and someone takes you out of your groove…It was the most emotional scene in the movie. And for him to get stopped in the middle of it. He is very intensely involved in his character. He didn’t walk around like that all day long. It was just a moment and it passed.”

There is no denying though that Christina Bale is a phenomenal actor though, his roles in The Machinist and American Psycho stick with you forever, not to mention Batman.

Robert Downey Jr. is a bad in a subtle way. He deserves major recognition for stonewalling Marvel producers and studio heads into giving him a substantial pay raise for the films in the Iron Man series. Substantial pay increases as in he brought home $75 million- in 2012 alone, reports Reuters. Interestingly, the actor only signed on for four films with Marvel, and 2012’s Avengers and Iron Man 3 closed the deal. It was negotiations with the actors for the Avengers sequel that gives him his bad stigma. He threatened to leave the franchise entirely if he was not paid more, and he threw multiple Avengers costars into the mix who he believed were underpaid in the past. Because he is so synonymous with the Iron Man name, Marvel was forced to bend to his strong will. What a nice guy.

Lindsay Lohan is on this list for a very different reason. Her drug abuse scandals made her notoriously difficult to work with, where she locked herself in her trailer, made unreasonable demands, and often abused drugs before filming. Oprah Winfrey as of recent made a deal to film Lohan for an eight episode series. Winfrey had struggles with the actress, between her refusing camera presence and disappearing. “This is just what everyone warned me would happen. And it is,” Winfrey says on camera.

Some actors in Hollywood are nice, and even more are very mean. The below actors take the cake for being difficult to work with, including Lindsay Lohan and Christian Bale.
