Charlie Sheen Confirms He Is HIV Positive
After yesterday’s buildup following the release of tabloid articles blowing wide open Charlie Sheen’s alleged HIV positive status, the downward spiral leading to his contraction, and accused reckless behavior endangering other women in the wake of his diagnosis, Sheen has finally had the opportunity to come out and discuss the matter personally.
This morning the Two and Half Men celebrity went on Today with Matt Lauer and confirmed that he is in fact HIV positive.
“I am here to admit that I am in fact HIV positive,” revealed the 50-year-old celebrity, a diagnoses that he’s kept private for over four years.
His reasoning for finally coming out with the disease? “I have to put a stop to this barrage of attacks and sub-truths and very harmful and mercurial stories that are about me that threaten the health of so many others,” said Sheen. “[It] couldn’t be farther from the truth.”
The shocking news seems to have reopened old wounds for Sheen over past struggles with addiction, prostitution, and the behavior that led him to be fired from his slot as the highest paid man on television in Two and Half Men in 2011 over a dispute with the show’s creator.
Tabloid reports also suggested that Sheen’s ex girlfriend, former porn star Bree Olson may have contracted the virus as a result of sleeping with Sheen, but Olson denied the rumors in a post to her social media accounts, asserting that Sheen was actually negative.
“There are speculations circling that one of my ex boyfriends from years ago may have contracted the HIV virus. They are rumors and I know nothing more than anyone else,” the former porn star wrote. “I, myself have been to my gynecologist at least once a year since we split up and have always been tested across the board for everything and have came back clean across the board every time.”
However, once the news broke that Sheen was positive, Olson began live tweeting from the doctor’s office as she was getting tested for the disease.
Recorded myself for half an hour being tested for HIV and getting the results. This is so stressful.

Sheen, who had a known penchant for prostitutes, admits that in trusting an “inner circle” of people with this secret he’s suffered multiple betrayals and several cases of financial shakedowns leading to extortion into the millions.
