The founder of CNN, Ted Turner, stoically believed his network would run until the end of the world. Whether CNN survives until the end of existence remains to be seen, however, putting action behind his beliefs, Turner apparently gave the green light to a tape which was to be played if the end was nigh.
According to Michael Ballaban, a former-intern at the network, the video, titled “Turner Doomsday Video,” exists on the network’s Mediasource archive. The video features an orchestral band playing “Nearer My God, To Thee,” the same song purportedly played on the Titanic as it sank to the floor of the Atlantic Ocean – remember in the movie, “Gentlemen, it has been a privilege playing with you tonight.” Don’t cry!
The footage is supposedly meant to be played by the last-remaining CNN employee when the apocalypse comes.
So sit back and imagine several thousand zombies scratching down your door, or giant toads falling from the sky, or whatever apocalyptic scenario floats your boat, and watch CNN’s potential final footage.
apparently CNN has a special video to screen when the end of the world is c o n f i r m e d http://t.co/MJ6zvXY0kZ
