No, Layla is not the coolest pirate child on the block, but she does have the coolest dad ever.

This father’s day we’re giving two big thumbs up to Geof Grubb, a Michigan father who took a very creative path towards turning his daughter’s medical issue into a fun game.

Baby Layla was born with a cataract in her right eye, and as a result is required to wear an eyepatch for several hours during the day to help her strengthen her eye. The artistry that Grubbs is able to display in the few inches afforded him by Layla’s bandage is incredible. His personalized eyepatches first went viral on Reddit and now Layla even has her own Instagram account.

Often clever, funny, and totally matchy-matchy with Layla’s outfits, the patches vary from cartoon characters, to googily eyes, to poo emojis.

Which is your favorite “patchwork”?
