Dozens of drivers received $230 tickets in Fort Lee, NJ, for “failing to yield” for a pedestrian–but in this case, Donald Duck.

A cop disguised in a 6’4″ Donald Duck costume spent Halloween standing in a crosswalk to catch drivers who did not yield for the “pedestrian.”

According to police officials, 40 people have been struck in the area last year trying to cross the street.

But some people that received tickets are saying that it’s unfair and plan on fighting the ticket. One violator said, “This duck kept going to the curb, off the curb. I thought it was a crazy guy on Halloween. It scared me. It was a huge duck. If it was a person dressed normally, I think all those people would have stopped.”

“When you see a pedestrian, child, adult or duck, stop,” Police Chief Keith Bendul said. “Let them cross and proceed with your day.”

If you live in Fort Lee, New Jersey, you didn’t have to go to Disneyland to see Donald Duck. But if you drove by him without stopping, you probably received a ticket for not yielding. Find out more here!
