Obi the Pygmy Hippo Made His First Public Appearance
Obi the pygmy hippo has taken off his water wings, and is ready to take the big plunge.
The adorable three-week old hippopotamus has just learned to swim with the help of his mom and dad, Petre and Felix, at the Melbourne Zoo in Australia.
As you can he’s making good progress on his “hippo-paddling,” but mom isn’t afraid to step in if he needs a helping hand.
Obi was born on May 27 and was the first of his species to born in the Melbourne Zoo since 1981. The little guy is already betrothed to another female hippo to help maintain steady growth of the population!
OMG. How can I get one?
