Divorce can be most one of the most difficult experiences in life. Sometimes the split couple can remain friendly with each other, but other times the disagreements and problems can never be patched over. How often does an amazing story come around that has the couple doing both?!
Meet Renate Stumpf and Louis Demetriades. Their love story began in an army base in Germany in 1959. At just 18 years old, they fell in love, got married and had three children. A typical story until 13 years later they realized their differences were irreconcilable. They probably resented and despised each other because for 43 years they didn’t even speak to one another.
“We had little financial support, I didn’t know anything and I could barely speak English,” Stumpf told ABC News, adding: “We started arguing about every little thing.”
I would have smacked him!
