It's not just about the academics...

Everyone knows some of the best colleges in the world to get an education are the ivies: Brown, Columbia, Cornell, Dartmouth, Harvard, the University of Pennsylvania, Princeton and Yale. In this day and age, college is the next step for many high school kids and while education is important, there are many factors that make each college unique.

Every year, US News and Report surveys thousands of students and analyzes their schools to rank the best academic experiences. What makes one college great might not be comparable to  what makes another first-rate. While some might be more into the academics, others might place a higher emphasis on the social life or extracurriculars. We taken a wider look at what makes a quality college experience and examining various categories: technology,black colleges, liberal arts, community college and best party schools.
