The outpouring of support is incredible!

Chauncy was a hungry teenage boy looking to bring home a small amount of food for his disabled mother when one man decided to make a difference in their lives. The outpouring of support and donations from the community members of Memphis and the world at large are truly amazing: Chauncy and his mother will be able to keeps their heads above water for a long time to come. While their story has a happy ending, many Americans are living in poverty and have no food security. Feeding America claims that in 2014, 15.5 million (21.1 percent) children under the age of 18, just like Chauncy, were in poverty. 48.1 million Americans lived in food-insecure households, including 32.8 million adults and 15.3 million children. It is important to donate food, clothing and money to local and national poverty charities to combat poverty and hunger that could be affecting people right next door. This is Chauncy’s story.
