She came, she won, and she slayed.
The Council of Fashion Designers of America (CDFA) Awards took place last night at the Hammerstein Ballroom in NYC. It’s when fashionable celebrities had gathered to recognize contributions by individuals in the fashion industry.
A big part of the night is announcing the Fashion Icon Award. Usually organizers of the event announce the winner in advance, but this year they kept it on the low. It wasn’t until the end of the ceremony that the legendary Diane Von Furstenberg took the stage and announced the recipient.
The winner was none other than Beyoncé, who surprised everyone with her arrival. The sneaky singer skipped out the red carpet and kept a low profile until DVF introduced her as the 2016 Fashion Icon award recipient.
What she won, who she wore, what she said and who she thanked. We have all the details!
