Franco and Hathaway Host
The Academy Awards has had a number of different celebrities team up to host the show through the years, but sometimes things get a little out of control.
In 2011 the decision was to go with movie stars, James Franco and Anne Hathaway. It was incredibly obvious that neither of them had any clue how to host a show, and Franco seemed to just check out halfway through the show. Hathaway was left alone trying to save it, but her nerves clearly got the best of her. It’s pretty clear these two won’t be invited to host again anytime soon.
Rob Lowe’s Snow White Duet
Rob Lowe is a strange guy. This one definitely falls under the “What in the world were they thinking?” category. In the infamous 1989 Oscars, there was a random segment where Snow White made her way to the stage. Lowe and Snow White broke into song as they were introduced to each other as blind dates. Lowe sang in a pretty tone-deaf way, and the rest is history… gross history.
At the 2014 Oscars, John Travolta somehow messed up singer Idina Menzel’s name pretty terribly. She was nominated for her song “Let It Go,” from Frozen. Travolta said “Please welcome the wickedly talented, the one and only, Adele Dazeem!”
Twitter exploded. We’re not sure how you can mess things up that bad, but Travolta said he wasn’t prepared correctly.
The Oscars are always an exciting event to watch, but these moments were a little too exciting
