Sophie Cox, 23, of Gloucestershire England, was diagnosed with trichotillomania, a condition where people have a compulsive urge to pull out their hair, and trichophagia, where they eat it. Six years after that, in November of 2015, she had a surgery to remove a hairball that from her stomach that was growing for years. All the thousands of strands of hair she had consumed had settled in her stomach until it affected her pregnancy and her health. What doctors extracted was a 14-pound ball of hair.
