The subject of miscarriage has always been taboo to speak about it public. For some incomprehensible reason, society has molded the idea that it is shameful or embarrassing to miscarry your baby, as if the mother has failed at her one job. The truth is, miscarriages are much more common than you’d think. Before implantation, up to 75% of pregnancies end in miscarriage. After implantation, the number drops to 1 in 3, which, while much lower, is still pretty significant.
One of the most public miscarriages in entertainment history was Michelle Duggar’s back in 2011. After announcing on the Today Show that she and her husband were expecting their 20th child, tragedy struck a few days later when they realized their youngest daughter would never live the life her family dreamed for her.
We just recently passed the anniversary of that specific miscarriage and the fans of 19 Kids and Counting are pretty shocked at how the family acknowledged the date.
Did they forget about Josie??
