U.S. access granted.

After finally getting cleared to leave South Africa and return to the states, Mos Def has just announced that he will performing his final U.S. shows in two cities before closing the door on his career. The rapper who now goes by the moniker, Yasiin Bey, has been in South Africa for most of 2016 after being charged and jailed due to criminal charges.

He first announced his soon-to-come retirement back in October after apologizing to fans for canceling shows. Now his case is over and he’ll be headed back to the states to kiss his career and fans goodbye. I’m a huge fan of Mos Def (and still calls him such) and I’m sad to see him go. But judging by what he’s been through, he may need this break and then some.
