"Anything Jay-Z can do, I can do."
When it comes to females in the entertainment industry, specifically black females, there’s no doubt that things are hard. Not only do they have to go up against men, trying to break stereotypes, and fight double standards, but they also have to go up against white women. Well, that’s how Nicki Minaj sees it.
The rapper is on the cover of Marie Claire‘s November issue and in the cover story she details what it’s like being a black female rapper in the industry. To add to her argument, she compares when Kim Kardashian’s nude body broke the internet to the criticism a black woman, herself, received when the same happened.
She tackles double standards and the issues of competing against male rappers.
