They're young, they're rich, and they live it up
Let me school you a little bit on the country of Nigeria. It’s in West Africa with a coastal border on the Gulf of Guinea. The British colonized and modernized the region in the 1800s, and they won their freedom in 1960. After some years of swapping democracies and military rule, the country stabilized in the late 90s. Some people call it the “Giant of Africa” because it has the largest population of any country on the continent, and it’s the seventh-most populous country in the world. With it’s large population comes a very large economy, and Nigeria is doing quite well; they have the twentieth largest economy in the world right now. Most of their population is pretty young, so what we’ve got here is a lot of young, rich kids who have the cash to do whatever they want.
Nigeria is a wealthy, populous country that is brimming with young people who love to flash their cash.
