Do it for the Vine: The six second viral video service to be shut down

RIP Vine. On Thursday (October 27), Twitter announced it will be shutting down it’s viral video service, Vine. Though it was the first social media site to really capture and promote video clips, it seems that Vine is no longer needed. With Instagram’s longer video format, Youtube, and a Snapchat on every smartphone, Twitter felt the six second video service isn’t worth the effort. But vine was much more than a video service, the limited format became a sort of art form, inspiring impeccable timing and creativity amongst the best Vine stars. Following the news of the death of the mini video format, Twitter was flooded with vines as people remember the revolutionary format.
