Kudos to you, Taylor
The hip-hop industry is not very welcoming to anything they’re not used to, especially when it comes to sexuality. It’s very rare that a rapper comes out as gay or bisexual. In 2012, singer Frank Ocean penned an open letter admitting to having feelings for another man when he was 19 years old. Artists like Beyoncé, Jay-Z, and Tyler the Creator supported Frank in his coming out. But many other artists, and fans, weren’t as supportive, making it hard for anyone in the community to feel comfortable coming out.
However, for Taylor Bennett, the task was pretty easy. Maybe. The Chicago rapper, who is also younger brother of Chance the Rapper, came out via social media on Wednesday. The 21-year-old, who was caught smoking weed with Malia Obama, wanted to stay true to himself in honor of his birthday, which is today.
