The best ones out right now.
If you are a true hip-hop fan and think that hip-hop is dead, it’s OK. I thought the same, and still kinda do. Today’s “hip-hop” music is totally different from what it used to be. I used quotation marks because I don’t even know if hip-hop is what we can credit such music. In a recent interview, Lil Yachty claimed that at the start of his career, he didn’t classify himself as hip-hop. I remember in another interview, he categorized it as “bubblegum trap” music. And I agree.
Just like my parents turned their noses up to sounds from Tupac and Kanye West, I’m doing the same with this generation. But I’ve come to the conclusion that times are changing and so is music. Therefore, I’ve decided to embrace what’s here. Not all the music of 20-somethings is horrible. These rappers prove that there’s still hope!
