Bravery and strength shine in abundance in the pediatric oncology ward of any hospital–just watch this music video.
Hoda Kotb, Sara Bareilles and Cyndi Lauper reaffirmed the power of optimism and laughter against a terrible malady like cancer with the launch of “Project Truly Brave,” a musical collaboration between the three women that features messages of hope and empowerment. The video combines keystone songs from both performers, Lauper’s True Colors and Bareilles’ 2013 hit Brave (thus, Truly Brave,) and spins them together in a music video that features a beautiful and high spirited group of children that are currently fighting cancer.
The inspirational group of kids featured in the music video had an opportunity to see their performance air for the first time on Today, and couldn’t have been more pleased with their debut.
Hoda Kotb, a breast cancer survivor herself, put the collaboration together as a part of Today’s “Shine a Light” series, a campaign that helps support worthy causes. To find out more and donate, visit Crowdrise.com/Hoda.
