Maybe no 10 years in Hollywood were funnier than the 90’s. The comedic talent that surfaced proved to be like no other from any generation. While if the money paid per movie is the standard by which comedic success is to be measured in Hollywood, Jim Carrey was king.

However, the best comedies Hollywood produced in the 90’s didn’t always have the biggest budgets for actors and actresses.

The 5 Funniest Movies of the 1990’s were:

5. Ace Ventura: Pet Detective

While Jim Carrey has starred in at least a dozen great comedies, his best work was probably as Ace Ventura. Jim Carrey is funniest as a physical comedian and his performance in the first pet detective film allowed him to push his brand of comedy to the limit. Not since Charlie Chapman had a comedian shown so much diversity as a physical comedian and the results were a side-splitting, knee-slapping, spit-your-Coke-out-through-your-nose riot!

The 1990’s brought forward a group of young actors that have proven to be some of the best ever while also featuring some of the best from the past.
