Actress Jennifer Lawrence has no problem proving time and again what a bada$$ she is.

The Hunger Games starlet stripped off all of her clothes last fall and allowed Vanity Fair to take photographs of her with a massive boa constrictor slithering around on her naked body.

Initially the images were meant to be released in the November 2014 issue of the polished publication, but due to the untimely drama surrounding personal photos of Jennifer Lawrence that were leaked and passed around the internet like cat-memes, they delayed publishing the shoot.

Here is first image from the shoot, recently released by Vanity Fair on their Instagram account.

“The actress proved to be very brave and nonchalant about having a serpent wrapped around her body,” says Vanity Fair.

Of course, some publications are questioning whether or not the release of these photos invalidates the emotional reaction Lawrence had to her personal photos being released on the web, but a matter of choice in the matter makes all the difference. What we deem to be public, and deem to be private puts the photographs into entirely different categories. Wouldn’t you rather have the world see a photograph of you posed naked in Vanity Fair with a giant boa constrictor on you (of your own volition,) than of a sad naked selfie in your bathroom mirror?

Jennifer Lawrence’s shoot with VF was very consensual, and not “cyber-rape,” as she titled the scandal last fall.
