Actress Jenny McCarthy has always been open to answering questions regarding the topic of sexuality. During an interview with PrideSource, she addresses the issues of “identifying [herself] as non-feminist, relating to trans people, how she deals with haters and the potential advantages of having a gay son.” In the past, the former View co-host played a transgender role in a ’90s sitcom Just Shoot Me!, so she is more than comfortable speaking about issues involving the LGBT community. She told PrideSource about her role in the show:
“I always felt like one of the guys wearing, like, a Playboy bunny outfit. I was David Spade’s buddy to begin with, so I was a natural fit, and I always felt like his brother. To play kind of the dude was almost too scary natural.”
When PrideSource asked McCarthy, Donnie Wahlberg’s wife, about how she would feel if her her 12-year-old son, Evan, admitted to being gay, McCarthy responded in a tone of excitement rather than acceptance. According to USWeekly, she stated:
“Oh my god, I would be so excited. We can shop! Do my hair! I really do feel like, with sexuality being more open and people coming out, there might be a little bi in everybody; it’s just a matter of who acts on it.”
Way to stand your ground McCarthy and stick up for what you believe in!
