Canadian folk singer and celebrity icon of the Woodstock generation, Joni Mitchell was placed in the intensive care unit in Los Angeles yesterday (Mar. 31) after she’d been found “unconscious in her home,” says the artist’s website.

Joni, who is 71 years old, regained consciousness on the way to the hospital in an ambulance, and is reportedly doing ok. “She is currently in intensive care undergoing tests and is awake and in good spirits. More updates to come as we hear them. Light a candle and sing a song, let’s all send good wishes her way,” says Joni’s Twitter account.

After the internet learned about Joni’s condition, an outpouring of well-wishes and prayers were shared all over social media, from singers, writers, talk show hosts, and all sorts of people who feel that they’ve been touched by the prolific musician’s career.
