She’s totally a Charlotte! Or Charlotte Elizabeth Diana, to be exact.
The baby will be known as Her Royal Highness Princess Charlotte of Cambridge.

That’s right, the name of the newest member of the royal family, who came into the world just this past Saturday, has the same name as your third favorite character from Sex and the City.
Just kidding – the Cambridges are actually following in the royal footsteps of their ancestors by crowning the child with the historical name. Charlotte, actually the feminine form of “Charles” – who knew?! – has appeared in the royal family several times before, but not in the last 100 years.
The name apparently also means “petite,” which is perfect for the cute little bundle of joy!
Charlotte’s middle name, Elizabeth, refers to the current Queen, of course, as well as her mother, the Queen Mother Elizabeth Bowes-Lyon. The name Diana comes from the Duke’s mother, the well-known and beloved Princess Diana, one of the most recognized and photographed faces in the world before her tragic death in 1997.
What do you think of the royal decision? Did you lose any bets?
One thing’s for sure – with the popularity of the Royal Baby’s name, you can expect to see a lot of little Charlottes running around the UK over the next few years! (Sorry, no Samanthas or Carries.)
Here’s a clue: She has the same name as your third favorite character from “Sex and the City”!
