On Monday night the Supreme Court denied an emergency application from Kim Davis, a Kentucky clerk who has been refusing to grant same sex marriages on the grounds of her personal religious objections.

Davis attempted to get a lower court ruling to give her more time so that she could continue denying licenses to same sex couples, but the Supreme Court denied the application with a one-page refusal.

A video posted to Facebook by WKYT shows gay couples demanding their right to be granted marriage licenses from Kim Davis, but the Kentucky clerk is staunch in her refusal.

“We are not issuing marriage licenses today,” says Davis repeatedly.

“The Supreme Court denied your stay,” responds one of the men, reminding her that she has no right to refusal as deemed by the law.

“Under whose authority are you not issuing licenses?” asks one of the men.

“Under God’s authority,” responds Davis.

Davis continues to ask the men to leave so that she can move forward with her day, but the gentlemen hold ground until an overwhelmed Davis retreats into her office.
