After nine years, Kourtney Kardashian has finally ended her relationship with Scott Disick. Though the couple has been on-again, off-again for almost the entirety of their relationship, it would appear that, this time, it’s for good.

Multiple sources have come forward to confirm the split, which people have been speculating for some time now. Over the Fourth of July weekend, Disick was spotted with stylist Chloe Bartoli in Monte Carlo while Kourtney stayed at home with their three children, Mason (5), Penelope (soon to be 3), and Reign (6 months).

After multiple breakups and endless bouts of rehab, we think Kourtney is making the right decision for herself and her family, and here’s why:

4. Scott Is a Total Ass

While Scott had his charming moments on the show, he has inevitably degraded into a pretty despicable shell of a human. Between his smug looks and his referring to himself as a Lord (money CANNOT buy you class), Disick is one of the most unpleasant personas in Hollywood today, even if he was comparatively normal by Kardashian standards.

3. Scott Doesn’t Respect Kourtney

Over the past few months, all you would ever hear about was Scott off at some exotic party living up his lavish lifestyle while Kourtney was at home with the kids. Enough is enough, and we totally agree with her decision to call it all off.

2. Scott Doesn’t Respect Himself

It’s one thing to be with someone who doesn’t treat you right, but if somebody can’t even take care of himself, it’s toxic for everybody involved. Unfortunately, Disick has dealt with addiction for years and has had multiple failed bouts of rehab in the past. When you choose a playboy lifestyle over your personal health and safety, however, it’s only natural for your spouse to draw the line.

1. Kourtney Has to Do What’s Right for the Children

While it’s nice to believe that a family should stick together during the father’s battle with addiction, a mother has to decide what’s best for everyone involved. In this case, Scott’s selfish habits and alleged disloyalty are proof that he wasn’t committed to his family. Kourtney needs to protect her children above all else, and that means getting rid of the baggage.

On the bright side, if Disick won’t be mooching off the Kardashians anymore, I secretly hope he goes back to modeling for YA book covers.
