Every girl should have the opportunity to be the Belle of the Ball, and for 5-year-old Lila May the moment may have come early, but couldn’t have been more magical. Sadly, it’s likely the last one that she’ll attend.

The tiny resident of Hood River, Oregon was thrown a massive fifth birthday party by friends, family and strangers alike to celebrate the years of life she’s had so far, and the fight against cancer that she’s been waging since she was three years old.

Little Lila was escorted through the streets of her hometown by policeman and arrived at her ball by horse & carriage. After dismounting, she strode down the red carpet amidst hundreds of well-wishers and party goers, all there to support Lila’s birthday experience. As soon as they heard that Lila’s parents were throwing their daughter a party, strangers began contacting the family, offering to aid in any way to help make it as special as possible.

“I don’t even know a lot of these people, it’s just the most beautiful thing I think I’ve ever seen,” Lila’s mother said to Fox News.

Doctors say she probably won’t see her next birthday, but this one was pure magic.
