The White House is reportedly investigating how what appears to be an authentic photograph of Malia Obama, President Barack Obama’s 16-year-old daughter, surfaced as a promotional Instagram this week. The image appeared on the account of the rap group The Pro Era on Jan. 5.
In the photograph, Malia is seen wearing a Pro Era shirt. On the group’s Instagram account, the caption encourages followers to buy more Pro Era gear from their website.
What seems to be Malia dabbling in an amateur modeling and branding career is causing quite the stir! The White House still has not confirmed the authenticity of the image, but just from looking at it, we think it’s pretty legitimate.
While the First Family should be careful about what they post on social media, or who they send their personal photographs to, the Instagram in question doesn’t seem to be the least bit provocative. What teenager doesn’t own some paraphernalia of their favorite musical groups at one point or another?
The real question is how the rap group, headed by hip hop artist and rapper Joey Bada$$, got their hands on the image. Either Malia has some super unreliable friends, or she’s talking to strangers on the world wide web! Better hide yo’ kids, because even the First Family isn’t immune to the endless deceptions and publications of social media. Be safe, Malia!
No word yet on how Papa Barry is reacting to his daughter’s selfie, something that all fathers in America must surely go through.
