Meg Ryan

CBS’ spinoff of How I Met Your Mother How I Met Your Dad, is beefing up its casting for Upfront presentations in May with Meg Ryan. Ryan is set to be the voice of future Sally, Greta Gerwig’s character. In the original series, Bob Saget provided the future voice for Josh Radnor’s, Ted.

While How I Met Your Dad has to pull its own weight during Upfronts, it is anticipated that the comedy will find itself on the CBS’ fall lineup.

Gerwig stars alongside Nick D’Agosto, Anders Holm and Drew Tarver. The spinoff follows Sally on the journey of how she met her husband. She lives in New York with her friends, is getting divorced from her first husband, and has no idea what she is doing with her life.

Ryan is also working on another comedy series for NBC that she is a headliner and executive producer for, the series is currently untitled. Ryan will play a sunny, devoted and desperately nonconfrontational single mom who decides to return to her New York publishing house where she was once a brilliant editor. Upon return she finds that she now works for Brenda, a neurotic 30-year-old who was once her former intern. Now she must find a way to keep her boss, her teenage kids, her almost ex-husband and her meddlesome mother-in-law all happy, which results in her overcomplicating every situation and somehow always making it worse.

Looks like America’s sweetheart could be very busy this fall!
