President Obama Tapes An Interview For The Colbert Report with Stephen Colbert

With less than 2 weeks remaining for The Colbert Report, host Stephen Colbert landed another interview with President Barack Obama, and reactions have been pretty positive.

While the duo tackled issues such as the Keystone XL Pipeline, immigration, and voter turnout, there was also plenty of time for humor and quips on both of their behalves. Colbert declared the president to be Emperor Barackus Maximus I, and he also threw a punch regarding Obama’s employment of 4 secretaries of defense in 6 years. Obama retorted by referring to Colbert as “Bill” (O’Reilly) and calling his solution to undocumented immigration “ridiculous.”

The president even went so far as to take over Colbert’s typical “The Word” segment, instead calling it “The Decree,” which elicited a huge viewer response.

The audience, which was largely filled with younger people, cheered on the president and threw up their hands when asked who came out to vote in the midterms. Both in person and online, the president and Colbert received positive feedback for last night’s hysterical installment.
