While trying to calm the people on board, the flight attendant said over the intercom: “I’ve done this for 36 years. I think the man that said this is an idiot, and I’ll say that straight out.”
When the plane landed in the Dominican, it sat on the tarmac for 2 hours while emergency personnel in hazmat suits examined the plane. The 54-year-old man was then taken to a medical facility at the airport–where he tested negative for the disease.
With more than 9,000 people dying from Ebola in the last couple of months, the scare on the plane is no joke. As of this coming weekend, five U.S. airports will be screening passengers coming from Ebola-stricken nations in Africa: JFK, EWR, IAD, ORD and ATL.
Videos have been going viral of the hazmat suit personnel.
