If you’ve ever dreamt of being rescued by a handsome prince on horseback, your fantasies are one step closer to reality after Prince William started his new job today.
The Duke of Cambridge recently joined up as an air ambulance pilot on Monday for the East Anglican Air Ambulance service. In his new position the former Royal Air Force helicopter pilot will be responsible for picking up victims in dire medical condition and transporting them to the hospital for emergency treatment. NBC News states that possible landing sites on the job will include: private gardens, parking lots, beaches and roadsides (and who knows, maybe outside your local pub).
Of course, Prince William has no big need for the salary afforded him by his new position, so he plans to donate every dime he makes as a pilot to charity. He also plans on balancing his new job with his responsibilities as a father of two, as well as his standard royal duties.
There’s no guarantee Prince William will be your shining knight in armor if you’re ever injured, so please try and stay safe, but the people of Norfolk, Suffolk, Cambridgeshire, and Bedfordshire counties can rest a little easier knowing that the duke is prepared to swoop in and carry them to safety at a moment’s notice.
