Ray Romano recently (Nov. 11) hosted the International Myeloma Foundation 7th Annual Comedy Celebration at The Wilshire Ebell Theatre & Club in Los Angeles. The event benefitted the Peter Boyle Research Fund. In attendance were Patricia Heaton, Peter Gallagher, David Crosby, Monica Horan Rosenthal, Alex Meneses, Phil Rosenthal, and Maggie Wheeler.

Ray Romano was excited to host the evening’s event: “It’s good to do. Good to see people. Good to make money for a good cause. Good to honor our friend Peter, we never want to forget him.”

Patricia Heaton with nostalgia remembered Peter Boyle and their days working on Everybody Loves Raymond: “We had a great nine years together. It was a privilege to be able to work with someone whose career I had admired for so long. One of the greatest things about working on Everybody Loves Raymond was to be able to work with a legend like Peter Boyle.

In 2006 Peter Boyle died after battling myeloma for four years. Through the International Myeloma Foundation’s annual Comedy Celebration the foundation has raised over $4 million. This year, funds will be directed to the Black Swan Research Initiative, a groundbreaking project led by myeloma experts that seeks to bridge the gap from long-term remission to a cure.
