The comical, loud, bright and loving actress and TV star Rosie O’Donnell is returning as a co-host for the 18th season of the The View, which is set to begin September 15th.
According to Variety, “O’Donnell will add a strong liberal voice to the panel.” She will be joining moderator Whoopi Goldberg following the departure of co-hosts Sherri Shepherd and Jenny McCarthy, who will remain on the show through August 8th.
O’Donnell originally left the show following an argument in 2007 with then co-host Elisabeth Hasselbeck. Hasselbeck, now co-host of Fox & Friends, said, “talk about not securing the border. Here comes to The View the very woman who spit in the face of our military, spit in the face of her own network and really in the face of a person who stood by her and had civilized debates for the time that she was there,” before also alleging that her return had been planned for a “long, long time.” It’s safe to say that Hasselbeck has long mirrored that of her new network Fox News, so not much can be trusted.
“Since leaving the show, O’Donnell has re-married and is a heart attack survivor.” Welcome back, Rosie! We love you.
