Tragic news out of Taiwan this morning (Feb. 4) following the crash of a TransAsia plane shortly after takeoff from Taipei Songshan Airport.
The above video was taken from the dashboard camera of a vehicle traveling on the bridge that the plane clipped immediately before crashing into the Keelung River. The passengers inside the taxi van, which you can see is struck by the plane’s wing, are reported to be in stable condition in the hospital.
According to reports, the plane is said to have been carrying 58 passengers. Following the crash, Taiwanese authorities have announced that 23 are dead, 15 are injured, and 20 more are missing.
The crash occurred at 10 PM ET on Feb. 3, 11 AM local time in Taipei, the capital city of the island country. At the moment, the accident is less deadly than TransAsia’s last crash in July 2014.
