Gutsy Squirrel Dives Into Crowd at Baseball Game

It’s a bird! It’s a plane! It’s a… squirrel? A squirrel (of the non-flying variety) stole the show with his aerial act at the Cardinals/Phillies game at Citizens Bank Park. After climbing across the netting behind home plate, the squirrel dive bombed straight into the Phillies dugout. The final score? Squirrel: 1; Phillies: freaked out!

According to spectators, the squirrel ended up landing on Chase Utley as several players scrambled out of the way. The little guy quickly scurried out of sight.

In an interview following the game, the squirrel said that he had no regrets about the dangerous stunt. “To paraphrase my favorite cowboy, I wasn’t flying. I was falling with style,” he said. “In today’s world, a squirrel’s gotta do whatever it takes to stay relevant.”

Could this move lead to a career in entertainment for the squirrel?  Or will this brief moment in the spotlight be his last? Only time will tell.

Baseballs weren’t the only thing flying into the stands at this Cardinals/Phillies game. Check out this squirrel’s crazy stunt!
