Cat’s Motherly Instincts Kick in With Baby Hedgehogs
You’ve probably heard of this concept called motherly instinct. It’s the mysterious force that inspires and empowers female beings to do amazing things. You’ve heard the stories of women who develop superhuman strength and lift cars to save children, you’ve seen how your own mother knows what you’re thinking before you even think it. If you’re a mother yourself, you’ve probably felt this motherly instinct kick in even with children that aren’t your own — and this doesn’t just happen with humans.
When this group of ADORABLE baby hedgehogs suddenly found themselves motherless, their likelihood for survival wasn’t good. That’s when a very special cat named Sonya (such a good mom name) found these guys and her own motherly instinct kicked in — she couldn’t just leave them out in the cold.
Sonya has been raising these four hedgehogs as her own kittens for weeks now — feeding them her own milk, cleaning them, and sheltering them selflessly alongside her own kittens. It just goes to show you that humans aren’t the only species with a capacity for unconditional compassion. Love knowns no boundaries!
