Good grief! The gang is back for a new generation with the upcoming 2015 reboot, simply titled Peanuts.
Originally created by Charles M. Schulz as a comic strip in 1950, the Peanuts are a staple of 20th century American culture. They’ve appeared in many forms before, such as cartoons, video games, made-for-TV movies, musical theater, and even parade balloons, but this is the first time we’re seeing Snoopy, Charlie Brown, and friends in 3D animation.
The trailer features Snoopy and sidekick Woodstock in a continuation of their never-ending, imaginary adventure against the Red Baron (because even 100 years after WWI, who doesn’t love some wartime imagery?) Set to release in November of 2015, the trailer also encourages audiences to “never stop dreaming big.” That is of course unless your dream is to see a real-life adaptation of Peanuts instead of more animated reboots.
Audiences are also treated to a quick glimpse of everybody’s favorite awkward guy, Charlie Brown, having yet another awkward moment at his own expense as all his friends look on and laugh. It sure is good to have the gang back together again!
The film is written and produced by Charles M. Schulz’s son and grandson.
Good grief! See the ‘Peanuts’ gang as you’ve never seen them before!
