It’s official, director Paul Feig of Freaks and Geeks and Bridesmaids is on board to direct the reboot of your favorite ghoulish blockbuster. Feig has also confirmed via Twitter that the third of the series will feature an all female cast. He will also be working on GB3’s script with The Heat and Parks and Recreation writer Katie Dippold. “It’s official. I’m making a new Ghostbusters & writing it with @katiedippold & yes, it will star hilarious women. That’s who I’m gonna call.”

Feig has worked with many of the funniest women in the industry on his past projects, so GB3 fans’ heads are spinning with anticipation over the potential lineup. Only a month ago ex-buster Bill Murray prescribed who he might cast in the sequel to the classic 80’s franchise:

”Melissa [McCarthy] would be a spectacular Ghostbuster. And Kristen Wiig is so funny. God, she’s funny. I like this girl Linda Cardellini a lot. And Emma Stone is funny. There are some funny girls out there.”

With so many talented funny girls in Hollywood right now, the pick will be tough–but the film gives Feig a golden opportunity to pull together a comedy dream team of epic proportions.
