It all seems too good to be true but it isn’t! And it’s every little spoon’s dream!
On Nov. 15, an actual cuddling business called Cuddle Up To Me officially opened up shop in Portland, Oregon, and professional ‘cuddler’ and founder Samantha Hess has been booked up ever since.
According to Elite Daily, “within an average week of business, the 30-year-old woman reportedly receives up to 10,000 email requests for appointments, which she sells in 15-minute intervals.”
Customers are paying $1 a minute to cuddle in one of the four differently themed rooms. And get this– they even offer FREE HUGS! The stylistic themed rooms, equipped with any special needs for each individual “patient,” consist of a cascade room, a beach room, a zen room, and a universe room. The employees play the role of big spoon for the customers, trying to help people that are lonely to enjoy quality time with other individuals– giving them attention and even showing them affection.
Their goal: To create a healing process that will reestablish some sense of self-worth in the minds of others.
When interviewed about the process, Hess told Fox 12:
“We can customize each session depending on your comfort level. So, I have people who will come in and we won’t touch at all. We’ll just sit and read together. We’re not adult-oriented in any way. We just make people feel loved and accepted for who they are.”
The rooms even have security cameras installed in them to make sure the cuddle sessions are carried out in a professional manor and that no funny business takes place.
