Get ready for the love story of the year

Usually animal care facilities are pumped when two individuals mate and make babies. But two lovestruck seals at a sanctuary in Cornwall, England got a little too frisky and had a baby, so their caretakers decided to separate them.

The two seals, 10-year-old female Sija and 37-year-old male Babyface were never meant to have babies – the caretakers thought that Babyface was too old, and Sija was on a contraceptive that should have prevented pregnancy, but a miracle occurred regardess.

The seals were separated for their own health, but seals are monogamous, which means that they mate for life. So in effort to ease the pain of the separation, the seals’ caregivers coordinated some FaceTime sessions where Sija and Babyface could interact, and the results were breathtaking.
