The 13th Annual Women Who Care Luncheon will take place on May 7th. The star-studded event benefits United Cerebral Palsy of New York City and celebrates the extraordinary accomplishments of women as professionals, caregivers, and volunteers. Hearst Corporation returns as Women Who Care‘s lead sponsor for the fourth consecutive year. It was announced at the kickoff that Cole Haan joins for the first year as a new major sponsor. The luncheon has become a New York tradition.
The VIP reception featured two special guests that play important roles at the luncheon, Susan Lucci, Emmy-winning star of Devious Maids, and Robin Givens, star of Twisted. Lucci will host the luncheon for a second time and has also been a past honoree at the luncheon. Givens is returning for her 5th year in a row as Co-Chair.
Both were overjoyed with their involvement in such a meaningful cause.
“It’s just awesome,” says Givens. “To feel the energy in that room is just amazing. You don’t want to leave it.”
Lucci exclaimed, “I’m very honored to be a part of this wonderful family of people who want to make sure that people with disabilities lead great productive lives independently.”
Other Chairs of the luncheon include: Ali Stroker of Glee Project and Glee fame, Paula Zahn, six-time Emmy-winning Host of On the Case with Paula Zahn, and Donna Hanover, former First Lady of New York City, all return as Co-Chairs; with Jill Herzig, Editor-in-Chief of Redbook Magazine, as the new Honorary Chair.

It was announced at the reception that Hannah Jacobs, Founder and President of Family Member Inc., will receive the Karen Hansen Caregiver Award. Other honorees and celebrity presenters will be announced in the weeks to come.
