The three Afghanistan National Army officers that went missing during a routine, training exercise at U.S. military base Camp Edwards in Massachusetts have been found. Police and military officials spent the past two days searching for the three missing soldiers, identified as Maj. Jan Mohammad Arash, Capt. Mohammad Nasir Askarzada and Capt. Noorullah Aminyar. The Afghani servicemen were found attempting to enter Canada. Military officials said that the men did not pose a threat or security risk, as their intention was to take advantage of Canada’s much more liberal asylum policies.
This is not the first time foreign soldiers have gone missing. Earlier this month, 2 Afghani soldiers disappeared. They too had a desire to stay and live in the United States and were found in New York after leaving Washington D.C. They were sent back to their respective country.
